WHY WE CURATED IT:
My first ever vintage Rolex was an OysterDate Precision; a model I still keep an eye out for today. It’s the epitome of the simple, no-nonsense, dependable, understated Oyster that used to be the essence of a basic Rolex; capturing the spirit of an era that forged the success of Rolex. This is the “34mm” version (actually 35mm), traditionally considered the “men’s size” back in the day when watches were more elegant and discreet. With the original T-Swiss-T silver sunburst Tritium dial. Absolutely understated and versatile on the wrist, full of the vintage understated heyday Rolex feels and not what’s considered a “typical” blingy Rolex today. Comes with box and booklet.
CONDITION:
9/10, with minimal hairlines/nicks despite being 60 years old. Possibly lightly polished at some point in its past but done very well with sharp lines and thick lugs remaining. Original signed crown. Dial is absolutely spotless, some mild aging of indices, hands very clean, tritium lume plots intact and respond correctly to UV for age. Crystal has microscopic marks but no impediment to a clear view of the dial. Original bracelet in great condition with minimal stretch, just the usual scuffs. Movement excellent with to-spec power reserve, high amplitude, low beat error and accurate to ±15 secs/day averaged from 6 timegrapher positions.
