WHY WE CURATED IT: Genève models are some of the best value Omegas. Initially a flagship dress line in the 50s, Genèves took a backseat in the 60s as Speedmasters/Seamasters rose to fame. But Omega kept iterating, bringing affordability to wrists without compromising mechanical quality. By the late 60s–70s, they experimented with shapes and formats de rigueur. What we have here is a prime example of that… a simple, honest time-only Genève with an off-beat tonneau case with radial brushing and a curved bridge between the lugs. The movement is an uncompromising and robust Cal. 601 and this specimen is paired with an original Omega bracelet. A very evocative style, slim on the wrist and very versatile!
CONDITION: 8.5/10, with minimal light hairlines and tiny nicks. Dial, indices and hands are very clean and the overall presentation exhibits warm patina. Tritium lume plots intact and respond to UV correctly for age. Original Omega-signed crystal has small marks visible only under a loupe. Original signed crown. Movement in good health, with near-spec power reserve, good amplitude, negligible beat error and accurate to ±15 secs/day averaged from 6 timegrapher positions.
