WHY WE CURATED IT:
Most shaped watches are shaped just because. This one has a reason! The case mirrors the heart of Mazda’s legendary rotary engine: the triangular rotor. Complete with details like corner seal mounts and “crown gears” on the dial/subdial. A limited edition commemorating the engine’s history, leading to the 2001 RX-8 launch. Caseback engravings log notable rotary engines, ending with the R26B from the Mazda 787B Group C racecar (first Japanese, and only non-reciprocating piston car to win 24 Hours of Le Mans). Signed Mazda only, but made in collaboration with Seiko using the latter’s VH63A calibre. An ultra-cool piece that’s super relevant in today’s trend of shaped asymmetrical watches, with a bonus backstory for Mazda/automotive fans. Full set with boxes and sleeves, user guide, warranty papers and original buckle and strap, but we are including a CTS strap with MyFirstVintage leaf-spring deployant (pictures show a cut CTS but you will get a new one).
